Mod Rocker

I am so sad summer is over and that I had to leave Toronto to go back to school - and as a result leave my internship as well! I miss days in the studio, the interns, the CAITLIN POWER team, and - of course - the AMAZING clothing! Luckily I will be heading back to Toronto to help out with Fashion Week so I guess it's my silver lining! Here is one of the last "Intern Outfit of the Day" shots I did. We went for a mod-rocker inspired look, and this piece features CAITLIN POWER'S Black Sheer Panel Blouse which is insanely beautiful!

For all those back at school like me I wish you a happy return and a great year! For everyone else: Fall is around the corner which means we can get creative with layering!  I can't wait to experiment with a bunch of new looks I've been daydreaming about...I am in love with the upcoming trends for the fall time!

Out on the Town

My second OOTD was featuring a CAITLIN POWER Black Cut Out Dress for a classy night out look. We accessorized with a pair of black pumps, gold bangles, and a Chanel purse and here is the result!

Dress: CAITLIN POWER, Purse: Chanel, Bangles: Aldo, Lipstick: MAC Le Orange

How happy am I that I fit into the sample sizes at the studio? VERY!

The Quirky Business Woman

Each week, CAITLIN POWER has a series of Intern Outfit-of-the-Day looks featuring one of her pieces styled in a specific way. This week I was told to style her blue leather skirt (drool) into a fun office look. After choosing through a couple options at the studio here`s the look we ended with:

Blue Leather Skirt: CAITLIN POWER, Blouse: Forever 21, Heels: Jeffrey Campbell

Stay tuned for the second look that I`ll be posting later this week!

Interning with a Designer

This summer I have an amazing marketing internship with Canadian designer CAITLIN POWER. Her androgynous clothing line is a lot of fun to style with, and can make any woman look and feel powerful. One of Caitlin's signatures is her use of leather when designing and is yet another thing that makes her collections so great to work with!

Here is a Polyvore board I put together after being inspired by the CAITLIN POWER line. I'm currently obsessed with this pair of leather shorts from her SS12 line and decided to play off its masculine quality by using lighter, girly pieces. So I didn't completely lose the edginess of the shorts that I love, I made sure to use harder, dark accessories to tie everything together.

I feel so lucky to have an internship that I really, really enjoy. I am learning a lot about the industry and have a great team to work with - oh, and I get to be close to beautiful clothing pieces like these shorts every day in the studio! And how could anyone be upset with that?
